To protect and improve the health and wellbeing of Scotlands population, Public Health Scotland (PHS) works with organisations in different sectors.

Engagement with industries can help us to advance public health objectives.

However, it can also create actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest.

These need to be managed carefully.

The framework sets out the principles, processes and tools that PHS uses to ensure that interactions with the private sector are:

  • transparent
  • consistent
  • in a way that protects PHS

It supports engagement with different industries. It also recognises that commercial interests may conflict with public health objectives.

Got to the framework for interacting with the private sector and managing conflicts of interest.
