This is a request for information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 regarding the appointments of the Co-Directors of the Scottish Pandemic Sciences Partnership (SPSP) as announced on July 21st 2025.
Your letter to me of September 5th makes reference to Senior Policy Officials of the Scottish Government, academia, stakeholders, NHS Boards and Professor Andrew Morris and so I would expect you to include these in any recovery exercise.
I am seeking the following information:
1. Date(s) when recruitment for the Co-Director vacancies were opened and closed.
2. A list of all locations where these vacancies were publicly advertised.
3. Copies of those advertisements.
4. A list of Scottish Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that were notified of these vacancies.
5. A copy of the generic email announcing these vacancies sent to the HEIs, including subject line and date.
6. All evidence of receipt of this email by the University of Edinburgh.
7. All evidence of receipt of this email by other Scottish HEI(s).
8. Copies of any communications (sent by your office or any other PHS staff) advising Professor Emma Thomson of the University of Glasgow of these vacancies and any replies and subsequent correspondence.
